Website Promotion

There are a number of factors that contribute to gaining traffic to your website. The least expensive and most important is content. Make sure that you've something worth reading not just a sales pitch. People with questions will visit your site and hopefully some will link to your website as well. When writing content for your website, make sure to use keywords that are likely to attract an audience.  Use appropriate keyword research tools..

2. Even if someone built your website, please make sure that it is search engine friendly. Read Google's take on it.

3. Promote your website like you would a brick and mortar store. Tell friends, use business cards, etc.

4. Network both online and offline. Visit Sue Clement. on how best to promote your website offline. Online, promote your website using blogs, and join various social networks where you CONTRIBUTE to discussions in which you've expertise. Read the help session on the social networks that you join. It gives you understanding on how optimize your page to rank in searches on their site and subsequently on google.

5. Use your website as your signature on your email and all correspondence online and ofline.

6. Don’t forget referrals from current customers. Treat your present customers well and they would refer you to others. Don’t feel shy about asking them for referrals. Create an avenue to make it easy for them to refer you to others.

You will need to read further on each of these areas listed above. Visit the local library for books or you can get them on Amazon.
